Section 2. 06. 01 of your Code provides: " Members of the board of commissioners shall be official action by the appointed by the city council." The City Clerk has confirmed that there has not been any Council to authorize, or request a recommendation from the CRA regarding who the new appointees permit, should be. Therefore, unless the Council amends section 2. 06. 01 of the Code, there is no authority for the CRA to recommend Board members. The practice of doing so diminishes Council authority of appointment and, in a way, may reduce the credibility of the CRA Board itself. I advise that this practice should stop until the Code is amended, if Council so chooses. If anyone has questions, please contact me. Toni l.
