This is a unit price contract through which sidewalk construction will be ordered as needed within budgeted amounts. Although one other bid was lower, submitted by Design Spaces Construction Services, that bid was disqualified; the bidder qualified two of the bid items rendering their bid non- conforming to the specification, as explained in Item 21, Comments. This acquisition was budgeted for FY 06- 07. If approved, funds are available in accounts 109- 541- 6997- 5306 ( Sidewalk Improvement Program) in the amount of $68, 500 and 109- 552- 6997- 5494 ( Beal Parkway Neighborhood Implementation), in the amount of$ 13, 832. Recommend the City Council award Bid # 07- 103, Annual Sidewalk Bid to Emerald Coast Concrete Specialties, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, at the unit prices listed in the bid tabulation.
