BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Ben Gordon, Jr. Family Visitation Center, Safe Havens Amendment 2 DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign Amendment No. 2 to contract C11-1920-CA between the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners and Judge Ben Gordon, Jr. Family Visitation Center. This Amendment extends the expiration date to September 30, 2016. BACKGROUND: On February 15, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners approved and executed a letter to the Office on Violence Against Women in support of an application for grant funding for the FY 2011 Safe Havens: Supervised Visitation. The County was subsequently awarded $400,000 through grant No. 2011-CW-AX-K021. The Subagreement between The County and the Judge Ben Gordon, Jr. Family Visitation Center was approved and executed on November 15, 2011. RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached Amendment No. 2 to Contract C11-1920-CA.
