ONO Regular Meeting Minutes November 8, 2011 17. MAYOR/COUNCIL COMMENTS Mr. Griggs wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Mr. Reeves requested Staff prepare a proclamation for the December 13 meeting in support of Congressman Miller's efforts to support the mission of Eglin, and to pass the proclamation to our neighboring cities. Mr. Nabors mentioned Men's Health Month in November to raise awareness in the health issues that affects men. Mr. Rynearson complimented the residents of the Kenwood area for their interest in the Kenwood traffic study, and requested an agenda item for January that gives an update of where the City is on the issue. The Mayor thanked the City Staff who volunteered or gave support to the Fair, mentioned the Veteran' s Day Ceremony on November 11 at the Beal Memorial Cemetery, and announced the m Police Department will participate in the ABWA's Guns and Hoses Fundraiser on November 19. The Mayor stressed the importance of Council participation in the monthly City Day Talk Radio f5c 0 Program and the City Desk Television Program at Cox Communications. After reviewing the bid packages, it was determined by the Purchasing Division and staff that Truck Equipment Sales, Inc. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for ITB No. 12 -003 for the 2013 Peterbilt Newway 40CYD Mammoth in the amount of 196,890. 2. 6. The apparent low bidder, Rush Track Centers of AL, Inc., quoted a right -hand drive chassis for the Peterbilt 320 / Wayne Titan 40YD truck, which does not match the orientation of the other front loaders that the City operates. All of the other front loaders in the City are left -hand drive chassis trucks, which allows for continuity in operation and maintenance. 3. FINANCIAL INFORMATION: 3. 1. The FY 2011 - 12 budget for the Sanitation Fund includes $ 208, 465. 00 to purchase a new Front Loader truck with five -year warranty. The funds are available in Account No. 403- 1360 -534 -6404. 4. RECOMMENDATION: 4. 1.
