SUBJECT: Aviation Advisory Committee Replacement

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Aviation Advisory Committee (AAC) has submitted a
nominee for a vacant position on the Committee, due to the death of one of its members, and this
nomination is being presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
BACKGROUND: The Aviation Advisory Committee is comprised of eight members. The
Committee has a vacant position and Mr. Frederick Carnes notified the Airport that he is
interested in becoming a member and has provided his resume. The Aviation Advisory
Committee met on May 30, 2013 and the discussion of a new member was on the agenda. Mr.
Carnes' resume was reviewed and the Committee voted unanimously to add him to the
Committee with the Board of County Commissioners approval. Mr. Carnes' resume is attached
for your review.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve Mr. Carnes for
the vacant position on the Aviation Advisory Committee as described above.
