STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the contract amendment and renewal for Little
Tire Hauling, Inc. (C15-2275-PW)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On February 24, 2015, the County and Little Tire Hauling,
Inc. entered into a contract to provide waste tire disposal. This contract will expire on February
23, 2017; however, the contract provides up to four (4) one (1) year renewals. Staff has
requested to exercise the renewal option for the contract. Staff also requests authorization for the
Chairman to sign the document. Recent legislative action requires that language regarding
public records requests be added to all contracts that will be valid after July 1, 2016. Staff is
incorporating the language as an amendment and including the contract renewal option within
the document. Staff requests approval of the Amendment and renewal to extend the contract to
February 23, 2018 and also requests authorization for the Chairman to sign the document.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the First Amendment and renewal and authorize the Chairman to
sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the First Amendment and renewal with
Little Tire Hauling and authorize the Chairman to sign the document.
