DISCUSSION: 2. 1 An Invitation to Bid ( 11 - 002) was issued on October 8, 2010 for the resurfacing of Ferry Park Tennis Courts as the base bid and Mooney Tennis Courts and Jet Drive Tennis Courts and alternate bids. 2. 2 The three ( 3) vendors that submitted bid packages are as follows: 2. 2. 1 Court Surfaces, inc 2. 2. 2 Lower Bros Co. Inc 2. 2. 3 McLean Tennis, Inc. 2. 3 The base bid consisted of resurfacing four (4) tennis courts plus the practice court at Ferry Park Tennis Facility. 2. 4 The alternate bids included resurfacing the two ( 2) tennis courts and multi -purpose court at Jet Drive Park and the three ( 3) courts at Mooney Park. 2. 5 After reviewing the bid packages, it was determined by the Purchasing Division and staff that McLean Tennis, Inc is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for ITB No. 11 - 002. 3. FINANCIAL INFORMATION: 3. 1 The 2010 -11 Recreation and Cultural Services Budget contains an appropriation of 35, 000 for Tennis Court Resurfacing in account # 001 - 1010 -572 -6310 ( CIP # 5072). 3. 2 Staff is recommending resurfacing the Ferry Park Tennis Courts ( Base Bid) and also the two alternate bids ( Mooney Park and Jet Park — excluding the multi -purpose court) for and amount not to exceed $ 35, 000.  3. 3 McLean Tennis, Inc confirmed the total of nine ( 9) tennis courts and practice court resurfacing for $35, 000. 4. RECOMMENDATION: 4. 1 Pursuant to City of Fort Walton Beach Code of Ordinances, Volume II, Chapter 4, Section 4. 01, Paragraph 4. 01. 025 and the Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Staff requests City Council authorization to award Invitation to Bid No. 11 - 002 for the resurfacing of the Ferry Park Tennis Courts, Jet Park Tennis Courts, and Mooney Tennis Courts to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting all specifications, McLean Tennis, Inc, in the amount not to exceed $ 35, 000. 5.
