COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S UPDATE
Mr. Curry stated a draft of the Auditor General’s report has
been issued and the Board will have 30 days to provide a
response and corrective action plan. He noted there is only one
Commission meeting scheduled during that timeframe and he will
provide a draft response on January 8 for Board review before
transmitting to the Auditor General’s Office. Mr. Curry said
the response will be incorporated into the report and then
released.
Mr. Curry said Mr. Dowd would like clarification on the group
working the internal auditor position for the Board. Mr. Dowd
asked if this is a working group or an internal committee which

auditor position until after the Auditor General report comes to

full report on options will be provided on January 8.
COMMISSIONER’S MINUTE
Mr. Harris – nothing
Mr. Windes stated in conjunction with the AGO report being
issued, he would like to bring the topic of adopting a code of
ethics for the commissioners, staff, and appointed committee
members back before the Board. He noted the subject was
previously mentioned and he would like for the County
Administrator to return to the Board with some guidelines. Mr.
Curry replied staff will target the next meeting with a proposed
code of conduct.
Mr. Boyles – nothing
Mr. Parisot stated the Governor’s Oil Spill Committee report was
completed yesterday.
Mr. Amunds said many times a commissioner may have more details
about issues or events occurring in his district than the other
commissioners and he would like to give that commissioner the
first opportunity to comment on items for his district.
CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL
Mr. Parisot said he would like to discuss Item #3 regarding one-
year contract extensions for emergency debris removal. He
pointed out the bids and contract awards were originally done in
2006. Mr. Parisot asked if any of these companies are willing
to offer a reduction.
Public Works Director John Hofstad stated contact was made with
the vendors and two of the three have offered a 5% reduction in
the contract sum. He advised the primary vendor, DRC Emergency
