SUBJECT: Special Event Permit - Davis / Upshaw Wedding

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Tammy Davis is requesting the use of County public beach at John
Beasley Park for a large wedding.
BACKGROUND: County Ordinance #13-07 (regulation of county recreational areas, including
parks and beaches) addresses Special Events at county parks, beaches or recreational areas
within Okaloosa County.
A request has been received from Tammy Davis for use of County public beach at John Beasley
Park for a wedding with approximately 120 people in attendance. The wedding is to be held on
Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This request has been reviewed by Public Works, Public Safety and the Sheriff's Office.
OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the request for a Special Event Permit to utilize County
public beach at John Beasley Park for the Davis / Upshaw wedding, as submitted.
