STATEMENT OF ISSUE: A public hearing to gather public input and consideration regarding
increasing the monthly assessment rate for the Sylvania Heights Municipal Services Benefit Unit
(MSBU).
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS: The Sylvania Heights MSBU committee met at a
publicly advertised meeting on April 10, 2014. The committee authorized a rate increase to
$11.12 for their monthly assessment from June 2014 until January 2015, at which time the rate
will decrease to $7.50 per month. The rate increase is required to cure the current account that is
in arrears.
The minutes of the April 10, 2014 MSBU Committee meeting are attached.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the Sylvania Heights MSBU assessment increase of $11.12
from June 2014 until January 2015 at which time the rate will decrease to $7.50 per month.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Sylvania Heights MSBU assessment increase of $11.12
from June 2014 until January 2015 at which time the rate will decrease to $7.50 per month.
