SUBJECT: Public Transit Block Grant Joint Participation Agreement FY15 - FDOT
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board
authorize the Chairman to sign the Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) FY 2015 Transit Block
Grant Funding, to approve Task Order No. 60 For reimbursement of operating cost to OCT and
to sign the Authorizing Resolution.
BACKGROUND: The Florida Department of Transportation has awarded Okaloosa County
$440,269 in the attached JPA. Funds will be used to reimburse Okaloosa County Transit (OCT)
for transit operating expenses. The grant requires a 50 percent local match that will be provided
by OCT through purchase of service contracts, other grant sources and local funds as approved in
the budget.
RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board
approve and authorize the Chairman to sign: 1) the attached JPA for FY 2015 Transit Block
Grant Funding, 2) Task Order No. 60, and 3) the Authorizing Resolution and all future grant
documents during the term of the grant.
