Okaloosa County BOCC — November 15, 2016 — 38th Annual Jingle Bell Jog 5K and 10K runs on Dec 3rd request

On behalf of the 7th Special Forces Association Chapter 7 we are requesting your approval to hold the 38th Annual Jingle Bell Jog 5K and 10K runs on Dec 3rd, 2016. Per the request of the Sheriff’s Department the route has been moved off of all state roads. The new route will close down the north lane of Hollywood Blvd from the southwest Santa Rosa Mall entrance to Hill Ave. This is a county road and we are requesting your permission for this closure. All other roads are City of FWB roads and a permit has been submitted for their use. The Ft Walton Beach Police Department has committed to traffic management for the entire event (contact: Sgt Galindo 850-855-8501). As noted in the attached slides, all traffic signs/cones are in line with the traffic devices required when this event was held on state roads. Message boards will be up at least 48 hours in advance IAW FDOT standards. We will also have EMT trained medical volunteers at the finish should any medical issues arise.
