BACKGROUND: Since 1991, the National Association of Counties has encouraged counties
across the country to actively promote their own programs and services to the public they serve.
Furthermore and in response to, the National Association of Counties President Linda
Langston’s current initiative: "Ready and Resilient Counties: Prepare. Respond. Thrive."
Okaloosa County stands ready to respond to natural disasters, emergencies or any situation we
face with economic recovery or public health and safety challenges.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Board approve of Proclamation of "National
County Government Month."
