STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of a Proclamation designating the week of June
1-8, 2014, as National Beach Safety Week.
BACKGROUND: This year National Beach Safety Week is June 1-8, and it urges all residents
using our beaches to enjoy themselves at the beach this year, while taking appropriate measures
to protect themselves and their children.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the Proclamation for National Beach Safety Week from
June 1-8, 2014.
