Beedie, City Manager From: Michael Beedie, Engineering & Utility Services Director Date: September 11, 2012 Subject: 1868 Amends LDC to Amend Board Meeting Times 1. BACKGROUND: 1. 1. On March 1, 2012, the Local Planning Agency recommended approval for Ordinance 1861 to adopt the new Land Development Code. On March 23, 2012, City Council adopted Ordinance 1861. 2. DISCUSSION: 2. 1. Ordinance 1861 streamlined the City's development review procedures. Specifically, several types of development applications no longer require approval from the Local Planning Agency. Therefore, the Local Planning Agency does not have business scheduled on the agenda every month. 2. 2. Ordinance 1868 adds language to Section 1. 06. 02 of the Land Development Code clarifying that the Chairperson of a Board, including the Local Planning Agency, may cancel a regularly scheduled meeting if there is nothing scheduled on the agenda prior to the deadline for applications. 3. FINANCIAL INFORMATION: 3. 1. There is no direct financial impact to the City, other than minimal savings from the staff time and materials involved in preparing for meetings that are not necessarily needed. 4. RECOMMENDATION: 4. 1. Staff recommends approval of Ordinance 1868 to amend Section 1. 06. 02 of the Land Development Code to clarify procedures for the cancelling regularly scheduled board meetings.
