BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: GinNeal McVay SUBJECT: Public Works Reorganization DEPARTMENT: Human Resources BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of a Public Works reorganization to combine the Facility Maintenance and Parks Divisions. BACKGROUND: Over the last several months, James Puckett, Facility Maintenance Division Manager, and Jason Autrey, Public Works Director, have reviewed the operations of the Facility Maintenance and Parks Divisions within the Public Works Department. They have determined that efficiencies could be gained by combining the Facility Maintenance and Parks Divisions into one division called Facility & Parks Maintenance Division. This change would allow for the consolidation of the custodial, groundskeeping and construction functions. Some additional efficiencies will also be gained by combining the supply functions in Facility Maintenance and Road Divisions within the Public Works Department.
