STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Corrections wishes to amend contract C13-
2058-COR to provide for an additional mental health counselor.
BACKGROUND: The Department of Corrections wishes to add an additional mental
health counselor to coordinate discharge planning, conduct group and individual therapy,
substance abuse counseling, crisis intervention, mental health sick call and routine patient
follow-up care. The 1 FTE mental health counselor will be added to Corizon's staffing plan
at an hourly rate of $34.20 and an annual rate of $71,136.00 or $5,928.00 per month.
Funds are available in the Prisoner Benefit Fund.
