b. City of Destin Funding Request
Mr. Foreman presented the request for $96K, or as much as the TDC desires, to reimburse the expenses incurred
by the City of Destin for the recent emergency dredging of the Old Pass Lagoon Channel. Chairman Peterson
asked Ms. Dunworth about the status of capital funds already allocated to Destin in the interlocal agreement.
Ms. Dunworth advised no funds have been requested to date. Destin City Manager, Carisse LeJeune, suggested
that the Council consider leaving those funds accessible for the City of Destin’s current year use and
withdrawing funds from other capital funding. Mr. Craul inquired whether there were other capital dollars
available. Ms. Dunworth stated a portion of the $500K earmarked for beach access ways could be reallocated.
Ms. Hoshihara stated that if the City of Destin had obtained competitive bids and followed proper processes,
reimbursement could be made upon amendment of the interlocal agreement. Mr. Foreman indicated this should
be a one-time request, as future need is not anticipated base on the pending armoring of Norriego Point..
