What happens at
Arbennie Pritchett Water
Reclamation Facility?
Wastewater treatment is a
biological process where
natural bacteria and
microorganism
breakdown(consume) organic
material and nutrient typically
found in raw wastewater.
Wastewater enters into the APWRF at the pretreatment or “headworks” where grit and garbage(inorganic
material) is removed. From there it enters the bio-reactor tanks(carrousels) where bacteria and
microorganisms await in abundance to consume nutrient and organic rich wastewater. The complete process
provides a clarified product(reclaimed water) which is sent to a golf course for irrigation and to designated
absorption fields. A computer SCADA system(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) provide monitoring
and control of the process. A state certified lab provides quality control/quality assurance testing and
analytical services required by the State.
