BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 20, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: James Puckett SUBJECT: Final Payment to KLB Contracting, LLC DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance BCC DISTRICT: 3 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Requesting approval of final payment to KLB Contracting, LLC for the Farmers' Market Pavilion structure awarded under Contract #C16-2376-FM. BACKGROUND: On March 9, 2016 contract #C16-2376-FM was awarded to KLB Contracting, LLC. The scope of the contract was to construct a 40 ft x 60 ft open sided metal building. KLB being the low bidder at a price of $56,400 was given a Notice to Proceed on April 7, 2016. The Date of Commencement of Work was established on the Notice to Proceed as being the date on which the materials arrived onsite (July 29, 2016). The contract expiration date is based on 45 days from the date of the arrival of materials, with that, the contract expired on September 11, 2016. Elements stated in the contract are now complete and the contractor is requesting final payment of $22,200 for completion of contract. OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove the final payment to Property Renovations & Construction, LLC for services performed under Contract #C16-2376-FM for the construction of the Farmers' Market Pavilion. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the final payment in the amount of $22,200 for Invoice #75. Payment to be made to KLB Contracting, LLC in accordance with Contract #C16-2376-FM and with this payment the contract will be closed. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
