RESOLUTION 06- 22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING SUPPORT FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IN OKALOOSA COUNTY FOR CERTIFICATION UNDER THE COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION TAX CREDIT PROGRAM. WHEREAS. Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County has as its mission to provide affordable homes to families of very low income and low income in Fort Walton Beach in an effort to eliminate substandard housing and develop a healthy, safe, and economically viable community; and WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County provides these homes built by community volunteers and sells them to the homeowners for the cost to build with a no interest loan; and WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County is requesting the State of Florida to make it an approved sponsor of the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program ( CCTCP); and WHEREAS, it will possible for businesses to have the ability to take credit on Florida Corporate income tax, insurance premium tax or as a refund against sales tax for businesses registered to collect and remit sales taxes with the Department of Revenue) under Chapter 220, Florida Statutes as set out in Section 220. 183, Florida Statutes. as an incentive to donate materials to eligible projects for the construction of low income housing; and WHEREAS, the criteria set forth in the said statutory provisions require a certification by the local government that the project is consistent with the local plans and regulations be included in the application for community contribution tax credit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: SECTION 1. It supports Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County' s goal to become certified as a sponsor of the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program. SECTION 2. The projects submitted by Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County, which is submitting the application for projects. are consistent with local plans and regulations including the Comprehensive Plan. SECTION 3.
