BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 7, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Rick Owen SUBJECT: Letter of Assurance to FAA DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board discussion and approval of a letter of assurance to the FAA that airport funds will only be expended for authorized airport purposes. Additionally, request Board authorize Chairman to sign letter of assurance and transmit to the FAA. BACKGROUND: After receiving a media alert regarding a recently published article in the Northwest Florida Daily News, the FAA sent the attached letter of inquiry via email to the Okaloosa County Airports Director, along with a request for response on April 1, 2015. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove staff request. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of letter and authorization for Chairman to sign and transmit to the FAA. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
