We (Darryl Roper and Mark McCranie) have seen an equivalent model perform in Lake City, FL in a similar setting as ours, and were satisfied with its performance as well as the daily maintenance aspects of the machine. We are confident that it will do the job for us. Additionally, we spoke with references listed in the bid response and all were pleased with Diamond Z equipment, and some mentioned that after using other brand names through the years that they preferred Diamond Z. We have also reviewed the exception listed on the second page in the first attachment and determined them to be satisfactory to our operation. One exception that was not addressed in the bid response was the issue of a "Magnetic End Pulley." Apparently, this was an oversight on the part of the respondent who has confirmed in a separate email (attached) that their bid included this feature in the bid price; they just failed to check mark "Yes." We would recommend that we move forward with a recommendation to the Board that we accept the low bid meeting specs from Heavy Machines Inc as being in the best interest of the County.
