SUBJECT: Special Event Permit - Brand / Parrish Wedding

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Island Sands Beach Weddings is requesting the use of County
public beach behind Pelican Isle Condominiums for a large wedding.
BACKGROUND: County Ordinance #13-07 (regulation of county recreational areas, including
parks and beaches) addresses Special Events at county parks, beaches or recreational areas
within Okaloosa County.
A request has been received from Nicki Cox from Island Sands Beach Weddings for use of
County public beach behind Pelican Isle Condominiums for a wedding with approximately 160
people in attendance. The wedding is to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to
8:00 p.m.
This request has been reviewed by Public Works, Public Safety and the Sheriff's Office.
OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the request for a Special Event Permit to utilize County
public beach behind Pelican Isle Condominiums for the Brand / Parrish wedding, as submitted.
