RE: Self-Nomination of Commissioner Dave Parisot to Gulf Consortium Executive
Committee
The Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners heartily supports Commissioner Dave
Parisot’s application to serve on the Executive Committee of the Gulf Consortium to deal
with RESTORE Act issues. Commissioner Parisot has been our Board’s point man since
November 2010 on the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) process and project
submission, the RESTORE Act process both before and subsequent to passage of this
federal legislation, and on the Governor's Oil Spill Commission. In these capacities he has
coordinated with commissioners and staff of other counties impacted by the Deepwater
Horizon Oil Spill and with Florida’s Congressional Delegation and staff in getting the
RESTORE Act passed, and with FDEP staff on NRDA projects and priorities.
This action was unanimously approved by the Board of Commissioners at our December
18, 2012 meeting.
Sincerely,
Don Amunds, Chairman
Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners
