BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: April 21, 2015
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Rick Owen
SUBJECT: Approval to schedule Airport Strategic Planning Workshop
DEPARTMENT: County Administrator
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff requests Board approval to schedule a workshop for the
purpose of discussing a Strategic Plan for the future competitiveness of the County's system of
Airports.
BACKGROUND: At the February 17, 2015 BCC meeting, the Commission discussed creation
of an Airport Advisory Committee consisting, in part, of members of the military (active and

review, staff has determined that a workshop for this purpose could occur on June 9, 2015 from
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Water & Sewer Building in Fort Walton Beach. A draft agenda for
this workshop has been developed and is attached for review.
OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove scheduling of workshop.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the Board approve scheduling a workshop for
discussion of a Strategic Plan for the future competitiveness of the County's system of Airports
for 8:30 a.m. on June 9, 2015, in the Board Chambers of the Water & Sewer Building in Fort
Walton Beach.
