Ms. Hanks continued that with the changes anticipated as a result of health care reform it is important for the City to issue an REP to determine the services and providers serving the best interest for the City employees. Ms. Hanks informed that Public Risk Insurance Agency ( PRIA) has a good working relationship with the City and has the necessary experience to assist with issuing a competitive REP for the insurance. Discussion ensued that local vendors will have an equal opportunity to submit a bid and the fact that the work involved is complex for the City to perform and PRIA has the necessary software to do the work. 2 Mr. Mead stated he is not sure of the process of having an outside firm do the work and he will a not support the motion. d Dr. gossom moved for Council to authorize Staff to coordinate with Public Risk Insurance Agency to issue an RFP for the City' s Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Products.
