Also requests authorization to reject all proposals for RFP 13 - 017 for Dental & Vision Insurance and to remain with the current carriers, Florida Combined Life for dental and NVA for vision. The City Manager described the process that was taken to issue Request for Proposals ( RFPs) for the City' s medical, dental, vision, and life insurance products. After review of the proposals and presentations, it was determined that the proposal from the City' s current insurance carrier, Public Risk Management ( PRM) be accepted. Therefore, the City Manager advised it is necessary to reject all proposals and continue with PRM for group health insurance and the current carriers for dental ( Florida Combined Life) and vision (NVA) for FY 2013 -14. The City Manager continued that because of the information researched during the RFP process, Staff has determined that for FY 2014 -15, it may be appropriate to issue two RFP' s, one to inquire into the feasibility of hiring an insurance agent to represent the City for health insurance, and a second to solicit proposals from the various insurance carries and allow the agent to review and evaluate the proposals.
