SUBJECT: Renewal of Petroleum Storage Tank Liability Insurance

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request authority to make advanced payment for renewal of the
County’s Petroleum Storage Tank Liability insurance.
BACKGROUND: The County purchases liability coverage for all above ground fuel storage
tanks annually. There are only two companies in the United States that provide this specialty
coverage. The automatic renewal process that Policy Managers uses provided the County with
a quote as follows:
Policy Limits - $1,000,000 / $2,000,000
Deductible - $10,000
Premium $10,447.09 (required 20 days before the effective date of 09/30/2014)
OPTIONS: The Board can authorize payment as requested or provide further direction.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Risk Management recommends the Board authorize advanced
payment for renewal of the Petroleum Storage Tank Liability insurance.
