STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy
Center subagreement relating to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant grant program in
the amount of $10,097.00.
BACKGROUND: On July 16, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners approved funding for
the Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant (JAG) Program - JAG Countywide - Federal Fiscal Year 2014.
The Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center has been awarded funding in the amount of
$10,097.00 through grant number 2014-JAGC-OKAL-7-E5-167. This award will provide initial
and ongoing mental health counseling in Okaloosa County for child victims of physical and
sexual abuse.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the subagreement between Okaloosa County Board of
County Commissioners and Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center and authorize the
Chairman to sign all related documents.
