SUBJECT: Special Event Permit - Gregg Chapel AME Church Luncheon

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Gregg Chapel AME Church is requesting the use of Ross Marler
Park for a luncheon.
BACKGROUND: County Ordinance #13-07 (regulation of county recreational areas, including
parks and beaches) addresses Special Events at county parks, beaches or recreational areas
within Okaloosa County.
A request has been received from Gregg Chapel AME Church for use of Ross Marler Park for a
church luncheon. The lunch will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Approximately 200 people are expected to attend this event.
OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the request for a Special Event Permit to utilize Ross
Marler Park for a church luncheon as submitted by Gregg Chapel AME Church.
