CHAMBER of COMMERCE
The Center of Business
April 30, 2013
Don R. Amunds, Chairman
Board of County Commissioners
Okaloosa County
1804 Lewis Turner Blvd. Suite 100
Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547
Dear Chairman Amunds:
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Membership of the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of
Commerce, thank you for the opportunity to nominate a representative on the RESTORE Act
Advisory Committee.
We look forward to working together on this countywide effort to make the best use of the
RESTORE Act Funding for the greater good of Okaloosa County. With this in mind, our
Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse Dr. David Goetsch as our nomination on
the committee at the April 24, 2013 Board Meeting.
Dr. Goetsch is well known in the county and statewide as a leader in the field of business and
overall economic development. Our board feels that Dr. Goetsch, as a resident of Niceville,
will not only be a strong voice for our immediate area, but will also have an objective opinion
and the ability to review all prospective projects looking at the overall impact for Okaloosa
County.
I have included his formal application per your request and would also highlight his service
as Chairman of the Board for our Chamber both in 1989 and in 2007, achieving Life Director
Status in 2011. He has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Greater Fort Walton
Beach Chamber, The Economic Development Council, and has invested service on the Board
for both the Crestview Area and Destin Area Chambers of Commerce. We cannot think of
another individual with the diverse and valuable experience as Dr. Goetsch.
Again, we thank you for the opportunity to participate on this Advisory Committee as we
look forward to the positive and lasting projects that will come from the tragic 2010
Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
