SUBJECT: Seeking Board Direction for Bank Loan Request for Solicitation for the
Airports Department

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: [PUR] Seeking Board direction for solicitation for the Airports
Department bank loan.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On August 19, 2014 the Board approved a Request for
Proposals (RFP) for $5 million in interim cash flow financing for capital projects for the
Airports. Staff has prepared the RFP but has also prepared a Request for Quotes. A recent
solicitation for a bank loan for other County capital projects had good results with a Request for
Quotes as opposed to a RFP. Both documents have been submitted for Board review and
approval to determine which method should be used to obtain the loan information.
OPTIONS: Staff requests direction regarding the non-qualified bank loan solicitations.
RECOMMENDATION: Provide staff direction regarding the non-qualified bank loan
solicitations.
