STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award bid to Empire Truck Sales, LLC. to
provide two (2) new dump trucks to the Road Department and one (1) new dump truck to the
Water and Sewer Department. (RFB FLT 37-17)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On March 29th, 2017, sealed bids were due for three (3) new
2017 heavy duty diesel trucks, cab chassis, 59,000 lb. GVWR w/tandem live axle, w/14 cubic
yard dump bodies installed and two (2) bids were received. Purchasing has received a
recommendation from Fleet to award the bid to Empire Truck Sales, LLC. Empire Truck Sales,
LLC, was the lowest responsive bidder. The total cost to purchase three (3) dump trucks will be
$286,417.00. Purchasing has reviewed and approved the recommendation provided by Fleet.
Upon Board approval of the award of the bid to the vendor, staff will move forward with the
purchase of the dump trucks for the necessary departments.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to award bid to Empire Truck Sales, LLC.
to provide two (2) new dump trucks to the Road Department and one (1) new dump truck to the
Water and Sewer Department.
