SUBJECT: Bella Vista Estates Drainage Easements
DEPARTMENT: Public Works

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Adjacent landowners have agreed to grant the County two drainage
easements to facilitate and maintain an existing drainage system.
BACKGROUND: Staff has found that the drainage infrastructure that conveys Monahan Drive
runoff to Cinco Bayou was built without obtaining an easement at the time that the subdivision
was developed. Staff has coordinated with the adjacent property owners to obtain drainage
easements to cover the existing drainage system. A new outfall structure and light swale work
will be installed as part of obtaining the easements and will allow future maintenance to occur as
needed.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove acceptance of the proposed drainage easements into the
County's maintenance system.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Accept and record the two proposed drainage easements to facilitate
maintenance of the existing drainage system.
