SUBJECT: Re-appointment of District 4 Representative for the Planning Commission
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management
BCC DISTRICT: District 4 - Commissioner Amunds
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Planning Commission is established pursuant to Section 11.01.00 of
the Land Development Code, and serves as the Board of County Commissioners’ principal advisor on
matters pertaining to land use and zoning, and functions as the Local Planning agency pursuant to Chapter
163 of the Florida Statutes. Section 11.01.02 of the LDC provides:
11.01.02 District Members: Each elected official of the governing body shall appoint
one member of the Planning Commission residing within the County Commissioner’s
District. The appointments shall be confirmed by the Okaloosa County Board of
Commissioners.
Pursuant to Section 11.01.02, above, Mr. Bruce Ravan is willing to serve an additional 3 year term on the
Planning Commission.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the
re-appointment of Bruce Ravan to the Planning Commission.
