Scope of Work: New K-8 School - Construction of a new 1,100 student K-8 School in Crestview on 80 acres of District-owned land will be completed under this task order. This school will contain all required components for successful operation such as a Gymnasium with PE/Athletic Locker Rooms, Band /Chorus Rooms, Administration, Media/Innovation Center, CTE/Science/Art Wing, and Cafeteria/Kitchen in addition to the two-story classroom wings that will house the K-8 students. The school site will provide the requisite parking, traffic drop-off/pickup queuing for parents and buses, and athletic/recess fields for staff and student use. In addition to traditional classrooms, an appropriate quantity of ESE Classrooms are also designed into the school plan. The Cafeteria is designed as an Enhanced Hurricane Protection Area (EHPA) Emergency Shelter as required by code. Destin Elementary School 3/4/5 Center Project - This project consists of a two-story thirty (30) classroom addition at Destin Elementary on the grounds of the current school. This addition will house 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and also includes a Multi-purpose Room and Administrative Suite that will serve the entire campus. A stand-alone Restroom/Teacher’s Lounge/Storage building will also be provided that is easily accessible from the main campus and specifically is designed to serve the existing Cafetorium during public events and student use during regular school hours. A new drop-off/pickup roadway will be provided on land recently purchased by the District that is directly adjacent and South of the addition. This will relieve the existing traffic issues associated with the current drop-off road configuration. Additional parking will also be provided for staff and visitors to the school. Sitework includes construction of all required walkways with requisite canopies, a new PE pavilion and relocated/new playground that will be established once the project is complete and portables are removed.
