The School District is in the planning and design phases of the development of a 32-classroom addition to Destin Elementary School for
grades 3-5. This new classroom building will facilitate the return of fifth-graders from Destin Middle School, thereby freeing up facility
space at the middle school for planned growth and expansion. A parcel of vacant land, adjoining the Destin Elementary School campus,
has just recently come on the market for sale. The acquisition of this property would open opportunities for Destin Elementary School,
including but not limited to expanded school parking and car rider lanes, additional stormwater drainage and retention facilities, and
expanded green spaces and playground facilities for students. Additionally, the property would provide areas for the future growth of
Destin Elementary School and related educational and community services.
