Case No. 15-02 Sarah Mason vs. The School Board of Okaloosa County Subject : 2.5 Board Action Meeting : May 20, 2015 - Special Meeting - Employee Disciplinary Appeal Hearing Type : Action Motion & Voting Motion that based on the evidence presented and the testimony provided by the witnesses; and the admission by Ms. Mason that she has taken repeated unpaid leave without proper documentation, the Board as its Finding of Facts has determined that Ms. Mason violated School Board Policy 6-32(A) by repeatedly taking disapproved unpaid leave in excess of what she was allocated. Motion by Dewey Destin, second by Rodney Walker. Final Resolution: Motion Carries Yes: Dewey Destin, Cathy Thigpen, Melissa Thrush, Rodney Walker, Lamar White Motion to approve the Superintendent's recommendation that the five- day suspension be upheld and enforced, and authorization for Jay McInnis, Program Director of Transportation, to spread out those suspension days during a period of time over the future pay periods that he deems appropriate. Motion by Dewey Destin, second by Rodney Walker. Final Resolution: Motion Carries Yes: Dewey Destin, Cathy Thigpen, Melissa Thrush, Rodney Walker, Lamar White Motion to authorize the Chairman to issue a Final Order of the Board consistent with the motions and actions taken during this hearing (Exhibit 15-51).
