BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 6, 2012
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Richard Brannon
SUBJECT: Approval of Uniform Service Contract
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Quotes were received on September 28, 2012 from (4) four
companies. Aramark Uniform Services (Lynn Haven, FL) submitted the lowest responsive
quote based on the attached analysis.
BACKGROUND: The County's Uniform Contract has been held by Unifirst Corporation
since 2006, when it was last bid out. The contract was set to expire September 30, 2012.
This contract has dwindled from 400 plus uniformed employees to 87. Purchasing solicited
quotes from four (4) area uniform suppliers. Funding is available in the FY 2013 budget in
the amount of $64,750.00.
OPTIONS: Award or Reject.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff have reviewed the quotes and recommends awarding the
contract to Aramark Uniform Services and authorize the Chairman to sign the subsequent
contract document. Also, authorize an extension of the current contract with Unifirst
(#C06-1277-PUR) through the end of November, 2012, to allow for the transition to
Aramark.
