Bayou, Bay and Back 5k/10k Run/Walk and Half-marathon on January 26, 2013. For the half-marathon, we are requesting the use of Highway 98 from Stahlman Avenue going west across Okaloosa Island, turning north on Santa Rosa Blvd., then running back across the island to Clement Taylor Park in Destin (map included), We are contracting with Bob’s Barricade for traffic lane closures. We are also using the Okaloosa County Sheriff and Posse to assist with traffic control. The time of the use of Highway 98 and closures would be approximately 6 am until 10 am. We are currently in the process of acquiring our liability insurance. That certificate will be presented to you once we receive it, sometimes not until right before the race. We are also obtaining all permits needed. I assure you this will all be in place shortly. As always, we appreciate the support of all of our county partners, including the Board of Commissioners.
