Republican Women Okaloosa Federated (RWOF) is proud to have participated in the National Federation
of Republican Women Dictionary Project for the past ten years. The goal of this program is to assist all
students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by
providing them with their own personal dictionary. The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at
school and at home for years to come. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning
to read and reading to learn.
This Student Dictionary contains biographies of the U.S. Presidents, the Declaration of Independence,
the United States Constitution, Facts about the planets in the solar system, Maps of the seven
continents, Information about the 50 states and Weights and Measures.
We are excited that this year we were able to provide EVERY third grade student in South Okaloosa with
their own dictionary.
â— Crestview Rotary Club: In addition to delivering dictionaries to all north Okaloosa County 3rd
graders, other projects the Crestview Rotary Club has contributed to the local schools during the past
12 months are: Provided copies of the U.S. Constitution to all north Okaloosa County 7th graders, to
coincide with their Constitution study units; special projects including Baker ROTC, Laurel Hill and
Southside Elementary; Bob Sikes Robotic Team’s travel needs to national competition; and assisted
Crestview High School’s Interact Club with construction of a parade float for Homecoming.
This year’s Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Crestview are Samma Brannon (President), Deb
Gething (President Elect), Nikki Schneberger (Secretary), Allyson Oury (Treasurer), Dale Henderson
(Director), Matthew Southard (Director), Carla Reinlie (Director), Larry Ward (Immediate Past President)
and Mike Connell (Sergeant at Arms).
