Approval is requested of the GMP & ODP for Program #6, Task Order #16 - Roofing Projects at Choctawhatchee High School and Lewis
School (Phase 1):
Choctawhatchee High School Boy’s Fieldhouse Roof Replacement – This project consists of the removal and replacement of the
existing roof systems at the Boy’s Fieldhouse building. There are multiple different roofing system types on the building that has been
created by combining four (4) separate structures over time. A portion of the building has a tectum deck with lightweight concrete cover
and single ply roofing. Another area has a precast concrete structure with felt-backed single ply roofing at a different elevation. The third
and fourth structures consist of 3/12 pitch wood trusses with plywood decking and one layer of asphalt shingles covered with metal pan
roofing mechanically fastened to the plywood decking. The existing single ply roofing over the tectum and precast deck will be removed
and replaced with the district-standard Tremco AlphaGuard Bio product. This area is approximately 100 squares. The existing metal
roofing over the wood trusses will be removed and replaced with Tremco Tremlock T-138 metal roofing panels. This area is approximately
50 squares. We will also be removing the EIFS wall system at the roof elevation change and replacing it with metal wall panels. The
existing mechanical units will receive safety handrails for protection during maintenance activities as these units are located on the edge of
the higher roof.
Lewis School Replacement/Restoration Roofing Projects – This project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing foam
roof systems at the Gymnasium, Locker Rooms and Kitchen areas. This area is approximately 200 squares. We will also be performing
roof restoration (coatings) work at the existing Tremco modified roof at the classrooms adjacent to the courtyard, as well as coating work at
the Weight Room area near the Gym that currently has a single ply roof. The restoration work totals approximately 100 squares.
