Legislative requirements require all software purchased to go through student data usage scrutiny. The Document used by the OCSD for
this purpose is called the Standard Student Data Protection Agreement. The document has to be signed by any vendor that uses student
data and a representative of the OCSD. Being as the document centers around the technical requirements of protecting that data including
necessary system specifications and data destruction metrics, we're requesting the Board allow the MIS/IT Director to sign these Standard
Student Data Protection Agreements on behalf of the District and to tag on other District agreements as available. This will speed up
response time on software requests by District Departments and Schools and place signing authority with someone who's knowledgeable
with the technical requirements and the significance of those requirements when managing our students' data with vendors.
